30 km from Alhama
The Natural Park's first beach: 1.8 km of dark sand by the watchtower and the Virgen del Mar hermitage.
Torregarcía opens the Natural Park from the west: 1,800 metres of dark sand and pebbles between the Rambla del Agua and the Amoladeras rambla, lightly visited even in August. Daily cleaning and lifeguard surveillance, yet zero construction.
By the shore stand the 16th-century watchtower and the hermitage built where the image of the Virgen del Mar appeared in 1502 — the goal of the pilgrimage that leaves the capital every January.
