History and origin
Melting sobrasada, tortilla and aged cheese over warm toast
This tostada combines a sobrasada base, a portion of tortilla and aged cheese. The heat of the bread softens the sobrasada, the tortilla brings tenderness and the cheese leaves a deeper finish. It is generously topped while keeping each layer distinct.
It was created as one of eleven entries in Viator’s Ruta de la Tostada under the name Tostada mediterránea. It is a contemporary creation tied to that local event rather than a traditional recipe across Almería. Its appeal lies in that playful café gesture: bringing three familiar flavours into a new format.
