Confitería y Pastelería Virgen del Carmen

← Where to buy sweets
Confectioner Bakery since 1972
16 km from Alhama

Millefeuille, meringues and cakes from a neighbourhood confectioner opened in 1972 in Los Ángeles, which rarely closes a day.

Confitería y Pastelería Virgen del Carmen opened on 2 August 1972, run by José López Fernández and Carmen Hernández Palenzuela. José trained under his father-in-law, Juan Hernández Ortega, formerly of La Dulce Alianza. The house marked fifty years in 2022 and their descendants carry it on.

Its everyday sweets are cakes, meringues and millefeuille. Two dates fill the shop: 16 July, feast of the Virgen del Carmen, and Epiphany, with the roscón. It generally has no fixed closing days, so any afternoon will do for a visit.
