The free gateway to Cabo de Gata: three exhibition rooms and a projection room explaining the volcanoes, the seabed and the role of the salt pans for birds.
This is the gateway to the Cabo de Gata-Níjar natural park, and it is free. Three exhibition rooms, a projection room and a reception-information desk where you can ask before heading into the park.
The panels are interactive, which is what saves the visit with children: they explain the park’s volcanic formation and geology, the marine ecosystem with its native fish and algae, and the role of the salt pans for birds and amphibians.
Opening hours change several times a year and shorten out of season: January and February 10:00 to 14:00, March to May until 15:00, and during Holy Week, the first half of June and the second half of September until 17:00.
