Ten thousand square metres designed in 2017 with the town’s own children, under UNICEF’s “Child Friendly City” programme. Opened on 4 May 2019.

Ten thousand square metres in Las Cabañuelas Norte, over 7,000 of them play surface. It opened on 4 May 2019, but the interesting part is how it was designed: in 2017, through a participatory process with the town’s own children, under UNICEF’s “Child Friendly City” programme.

Out of that came three zones that portray Vícar. Vícar Monumental is a six-metre artificial hill reproducing the Iglesia Fortaleza, with slides, tubes and climbing nets. Vícar Doméstico reproduces traditional architecture at toddler scale. And Vícar de Invernaderos — the local wink — uses metal netting, trampolines and a fruit lorry adapted for children with disabilities.

The grounds are rounded out with green areas, a picnic spot and a kiosk. Public toilets were installed in December 2024.
