Twenty-one hectares of century-old trees between the port and the centre, laid out from 1855 on the old city walls. The best midday shade in town.

Twenty-one hectares between the port and the centre, along the Málaga road. Work began in 1855 on the city’s old walls, and that age is exactly what makes it useful today: its century-old trees give the most reliable midday shade in Almería.

It splits into three sections — the parque Viejo, the parque Nuevo and the paseo de San Luis — with swings, see-saws and play equipment spread beneath the canopy.

The council programmes family activities here regularly: the “Juegos en Familia” scheme and, during the Feria, traditional children’s games that take over the park from Monday to Friday.

Highlights

  1. Three sections: parque Viejo, parque Nuevo and paseo de San Luis
  2. Century-old trees: shade at any hour
  3. Traditional games during the Feria
