Founded in 1984, Grupo Caparrós is the largest independent family group in the province. Five companies with 100% family capital cover the whole chain: Caparrós Nature markets the fresh fruit and vegetables, Alquián Agrícola grows them, Caparrós Deutschland distributes from Berlin, La Gergaleña makes preserves and ready meals, and Sol de Portocarrero signs the house oils and wines.
Nearly half of its production is sold abroad. From greenhouse tomatoes to "Oro de Níjar" olive oil, the group sums up in a single family the full journey of Almería's huerta.
