Puff pastries, piononos and chocolate glaseados from a confectioner family sweetening Almería since 1940, with two shops open every day.
The Amate family has practised the confectioner's trade in Almería since 1940. The city-centre shop is on Calle Navarro Rodrigo; the second, in the La Térmica area, on Avenida Cabo de Gata. Many locals also remember the former Capri shop at the corner of Reyes Católicos and Méndez Núñez, now a historic address.
The counter is grouped into pastry, buns, repostería, chocolates and charcuterie. The big sellers: puff pastries and millefeuille, piononos and chocolate glaseados, with the bonbons to round off the box.
Open every day, mornings and afternoons (the La Térmica shop runs 8:30 to 21:00 straight through), so it is easy to fit in an afternoon stop.
