Hand-packed, preservative-free mantecados in a 19th-century building in Laujar's old town: a workshop at it since 1951, mostly October to December.
El Mantecado de Laujar – Productos Miguel García López opened in 1951 as the bakery and pastry shop of Miguel García and Teresa Fernández; their daughter Teresa García later ran it. The workshop occupies a 19th-century building in the old town, output is hand-packed with no preservatives, and in 2017 the staff was entirely female. It is a separate maker from Dulce Andarax, the village's other one.
It makes traditional mantecado, almond polvorón, wine and anise roscos, olive-oil and sesame mantecado, olive-oil and almond polvorón and frutas de Aragón.
The season runs mainly from October to December, with national and international shipping; out of season, best call before coming.
